Happy Independence Day from the land of excess noise. Our Yonkers neighbors are setting off some loud bangs tonight, and they're making me jump repeatedly as I type. I'm somewhat soothed by the lovely day I've had, where watching 1776 during our holiday feast led directly into the Yankees game which in turn led right into the Macy's fireworks (a surprisingly nice show this year, utilizing the Brooklyn Bridge quite well). And to top it off, VanCity has issued his own response to the bottle cap challenge of which I spoke yesterday:
