Silly Site o' the Day

Jury duty is exhausting. So much sitting around doing nothing. But I had my Philip Pullman book with me, and my portable phone charger (no charging outlets in either the jury waiting room nor the local bus to and from the Grand Concourse) so it's just a matter of learning how to sit still. After my name was called along with a few dozen others, they let us out about 3:30 and told us to come back tomorrow at 10. It feels like I spend longer commuting back and forth than I do in the jury room! And the most depressing thing is how many passengers are maskless, even though masks are still required on NYC transit. It's like some people have just unilaterally decided that protecting themselves and their neighbors from a pandemic just doesn't matter now that not as many people are dying. But maybe it's just my exhaustion talking. Let's have a bit of Goodnight Moon, shall we?

I cannot tell you how many ways I love this.
