First thing this morning, we got multiple emails and texts and phone calls with the results of our COVID tests. Well, not exactly. The URL on the texts and emails was missing the first half, and the messages consisted of only the last couple sentences ("feel free to make another appointment" etc.) but not the critical information of positive or negative. A very rude awakening for Robin, who researched for a long time before finally finding some customer service email addresses, and a few hours later a response came with the beginning of the URL to actually retrieve the results. We are both negative! Which means this upper respiratory infection is just a cold, albeit a long-lasting and very annoying one. Which of course Robin is now getting. The current theory is that my body usually breaks down like this during winter break when the tension is finally gone and my body gives itself permission to be ill then heal because it knows it has the time, and past experience would seem to bear this out as I often catch something around this time every year. Doesn't make it any less annoying. My cousin came around with a head of Romanesco he and his gal got in the Hamptons (where she lives) this past week, and it was wonderful catching up with him again (we both have similar speech cadences and tendencies to interrupt each other so that was cool). Can't wait to cook this tomorrow! Should be a lot easier than cutting Lego salmon:
