An amazing day, probably one of my favorite staycation days in memory. I felt a lot better this morning, as both Robin and I got some sleep last night (one of the worst bits of a head cold is not being able to breathe properly while horizontal), and I decided to tackle taking down the paper recyclables to make sure I felt as well as I'd thought, bringing up two days' worth of mail which included a half dozen holiday cards (the one from my newest managing director even featured a little gift!), then it was time to finally tackle this week's planned Big Project, cleaning out all the clothes from the office and library closets that I've shrunk out of. I didn't want to push it so I didn't get very far, but all my now-oversized pants are done and packed away to be donated to RewearAbles, a bunch of hangers have been moved about, and every single item of Robin's has now been gone through. I can't believe he took so enthusiastically to my project, and now that he's finished all his bits I feel like I've fallen behind! I have a number of fancier outfits in the office closet, and a whole bunch of blouses and shirts in the library closet that need ironing should they still fit, so perhaps I'll have the wherewithal to at least tackle the easier (office) closet tomorrow. But we had a ball, with Rob trying out suits that were so tremendously large on him that he looked like David Byrne in "Stop Making Sense", and finding out I've shrunk into at least two jackets (a suede and a varsity style) that he'd shrunk out of resulting in a couple of silly "twins" selfies. We spent much of the day binging the rest of Ted Lasso's second season and just enjoying each other's company. Alas, he now appears to be coming down with a milder version of whatever it was I just went through, and I'm headed off to bed. Here, have some weird vintage photos of people with balloons.
