Silly Site o' the Day

An almost perfect day weather-wise, as we flung open the windows before heading out for a lovely drive to the supermarket and to return some Amazon packages. I kept thinking how glorious I felt upon our return, almost blissful. But it was short-lived, as the noise began shortly before twilight and got worse. One of the houses in Yonkers has apparently been building up to this massive party for months, it appeared to be a wedding reception of sorts. Dozens of folks, wouldn't surprise me if attendance passed 100. Out front one of the neighbors decided to have a back-lawn party as well, complete with lanterns and very loud children. And I reverted to how I felt in past apartments, particularly in Brooklyn, when I couldn't deal with noise at all. Our house is detached from the others, the noise wasn't nearly what I used to have to endure, but it still triggers me, and I just hope it stops before midnight. In the meantime I have the AC and fan on in the bedroom and am trying to think happy thoughts, watch the Olympics, and maybe play Doodle Champion Island tomorrow (via The Mary Sue).
