Robin and I celebrated my country whooping his country's ass 230 years ago in our usual fashion - watching the extended version of the still-brilliant 1776 and eating tasty grilled meat and vegetables. Now he's sleeping off our lunch (he did all the grilling on one of these) and I'm watching both NY baseball teams lose whilst trying to get through some ironing. No fireworks as yet, but we're anticipating a loooong night. Speaking of which, Matthew Inman has one of the best fireworks-related analogies that I've ever read.
