As yesterday was Thanksgiving with family, I've decided today is Thanksgiving with just me and Robin. I'm cooking a turkey breast and a number of trimmings; will probably take my traditional Riggs Feast photos later. I will not be making turkey-shaped gelatin concoctions (via BoingBoing), however.

Thanksgiving à deux is an underrated virtue, once you get past the pitying looks of your friends, who think that spending the entire day trying to avoid talking politics with your wingnut relatives is something of a good time.
Fortunately, most people in my immediate family aren't wingnuts (my mom is a Zionist "Henry Jackson Democrat" who tends to see everything through the lens of "is it good for the Jews" but that's about it) so Thursday was pretty peaceful. The only thing that bothered me was my uncle saying he didn't support Occupy because they didn't seem to have a goal in mind; via blogs, I have answers for him now, although I wish I'd had them then.
