When I was living in my parents home, I trained myself to wake up earlier than they did (usually around 5-6 AM) so that I could deal with whatever was coming my way once Mom opened my did-not-lock bedroom door. I suppose that's where my morning-person habits (which have served me well during my working life) originated. The more things I can get done earlier in the day, the better off I seem to be. Now with the downstairs apartment renovations going on, it behooves me to get up before my alarm goes off (6 AM on the days when I work from home) and get stuff done before the noise distracts me. So today I did various personal financial things (which wound up continuing throughout the day talking to my family's financial advisors and DocuSigning papers) and straightening things around the house and even work prep before I actually logged on, changed my Windows password right away (with one day to spare!), and started my actual job stuff. The downside to doing things this way, of course, is that I usually find myself exhausted by the afternoon, and with all the renovation work I can't exactly nap until the workman leaves at around 6 PM. I keep reminding myself, this too shall pass. Hey, at least I got paid today!

It's All Too Much
I still don't have the hang of my prescriptions, so I'm going to need to talk to someone in Human Resources when I get back into the office. I think I've ordered the meds I need to from my new mail-order place, but I have no direction on prescriptions any more from my insurance company's website. Nonetheless, I did a lot of preparatory work to gather all our 2025 financial stuff for tax purposes, gather my various bills, and with any luck I will catch up on finances tomorrow. Also read the last of the comics and transported my giveaway bags (from the old poke bowl place I visited on the East Side) into the library to pack them up for whoever wants to take them, slept a bit from time to tie, and stayed up as much as I could to watch the Golden Globes and the lovely outfits worn by rich celebs, as well as the briefcases carried by my KPMG colleagues! And speaking of work, I should get to sleep now as I have to hit the ground running again tomorrow.

Top- and Bottom-Heavy
I really missed Robin this morning, as I had nobody to complain to about the sudden influx of work that really had me hopping all day. Unusual for a Friday, especially since I don't really do that many timesheets any more. The big toe kept me up some of the night, I just hope it heals enough that I'm not limping through the supermarket tomorrow. I also have to catch up on finances, including paying some hefty bills, as well as my medical files. And now I've exhausted myself just thinking about it...

Whipping Up
The wind continues to blow a November gale, but as we got our errands done this morning (the farmers market as I'd forgotten to get mint for my Greek salad, then visiting my uncle at the extremely nearby rehab center) and had no further plans to go out, I'm fine with that. I finally talked with our downstairs neighbor's kid/friend/whatever about smoking weed in the laundry room, as the smoke (but alas, not the weed smell) travels up the stairs and into our apartment and even the air purifier inside and the two charcoal odor absorbers in the stairwell can't get rid of it. Today the purifier was nice and green-means-go, so that pleased me. The Greek salad was quite tasty, I finally caught up on finances just as a few big bills hit (credit card and medical bills paid, waiting on car insurance bill until next week), and I did my first Amazon same-day order of one of my supplements (and refills of the shampoo and conditioner that actually seem to be thickening my hair, so I packed up the other hair products I'm no longer using in the hopes I can donate them). Didn't get to the clothes steaming but I can probably do a bit of that tomorrow. All in all a day of much accomplishment!

Shallow Cleaning
Because I don't deep-clean anything. I'm obsessive about organization but not spic-n-span. So today I Swiffered the bathroom floor and tackled the microwave as best I could, and it's now satisfactory enough for my liking. Also took a look at all our cleaners and realized I don't have half the stuff I want for the household jobs, and half the stuff we do have is duplicative, so I added "sort through all our cleaners" to my to-do fall spiffy-up list. At least my normal Saturday stuff is done, I've ordered comics and we've done our grocery shopping and I finally hung up all my laundered tops and pants, which honestly have been sitting on my dresser for a couple of days. I also put away a lot of desk tchatchkes in preparation for Robin having a look at my malfunctioning monitor tomorrow, and the work part of our home office now looks much more presentable whilst the bolster I just cleaned out is now pretty full again. Ah well, it all has to go somewhere!
