Active Situation

I got through the workday just fine working from home, then came the emergency alerts. Apparently a guy armed WITH A RIFLE just sauntered into my office building, shot and killed a cop, and injured a few others on the 33rd floor (not one of the floors leased by my company) before turning the rifle on himself. To say this is unusual in New York City, most of whose residents tend to despise guns, is putting it mildly. Coworkers are now talking about not coming into the office all week, even though the situation is as resolved as it could be. I'm going to play it by ear tomorrow, but at this point I do plan on commuting in. I always carry plenty of ID so I'm prepared for extra security checks.
