A Trip and a Half

I'm trying to get into a routine of visiting Mom every other week on Saturday mornings, when it only takes a little over an hour to get to the nursing home in NJ and maybe a tad longer getting back home over the GW Bridge if it's earlier than 2:30 PM. Today's visit was pleasant, even fun at times. When Mom's there it's nice, and she's obviously being well cared for. And I do love the facility; we had a chance to walk around it a bit this time, and I was very impressed with all the amenities and little decorous touches. Something possessed me to visit Stew Leonard's in Yonkers afterwards, on an obviously very crowded weekend before a holiday feast, but we did get about half the things on my Thanksgiving shopping list so it should make tomorrow's grocery shopping a lot easier.
