Silly Site o' the Day

We both should have known better. But we were just so chuffed that we're eligible for the Pfizer vaccine booster and that they had walk-ins available down in Kingsbridge, and it was such a lovely day that I suggested a late morning walk down to a local Fall Fest (not worth it, only five booths in front of a storefront) then catching the bus to the mobile site... that I forgot that intersection midday on a Saturday, and especially the accompanying public transit there and back, would be a nightmare. That particular area of the Bronx seems to contain at least a third of the people in this borough who mistakenly believe the pandemic is over and they no longer need to socially distance or wear their masks properly. To add insult to injury, the mobile site decided they weren't doing walk-ins, despite the fact that they knew exactly how many folks had pre-registered and could have planned accordingly. I mean, it's not like the doses last for any long period of time! Such a mistake. We got home and I immediately went online and booked appointments for next Sunday both of us at our favorite CVS in Yonkers, the one next to the strip mall with the H Mart, the one with plenty of social distancing possible, the one where we got our flu shots almost exactly a year ago - and they can administer those along with the Pfizer boosters! So I hope to heaven we didn't pick anything up today (the petri-dish bus rides were 20 minutes tops) and I'll have much more peace of mind at the end of next weekend. Meanwhile, enjoy this Finnish dictionary.
