White Doors

You'd never know there was a major shooting incident at our offices two weeks ago. The lobby looks normal, there's the same process to get through the elevator bank turnstiles, I spotted only a limited uptick in police presence... but then I got to the floor where I work, and noticed the white doors against the middle of the floor layout. The ones that cover electrical stuff, bathroom entrances, that sort of thing. From what I've been able to piece together, those were the doors broken open by police in their search to make sure there weren't any further guns or explosives on any other floor, and once they checked they marked them with an "X" which doors were then repainted white. I honestly don't think about The Incident until I look at those doors, and something in my subconscious shudders. Other than that, work went as usual. I'm a bit too busy for the summertime, but at least I get a break tomorrow for my usual Wednesday PTO day...
