One Step Forward, Two Steps Back

My podiatrist doesn't approve of the sneakers that took me months to shop for and find, so my next attempt will be an orthopedic shoe store about 6 minutes away from our favorite conveyor belt sushi place, possibly in a couple of weeks, to look for new ones that won't irritate the side of my left big toe. He filed down the inflamed area (irritating it more in the process, as I'd feared, but maybe that's'just temporary) and recommended a pummice to maintain smoothness. He also gave me some spongy tubing in which to encase it as I walk around; hoping that helps it heal. He believes neuropathy is why I've been feeling the pinch so much, and there's little I can do about that. So I do what I can. Food shopping is done, even stocked up on items that I thought might be in short supply due to our current government's foolish policies, and I've done lots of home organization to put myself in good shape to not be here most of the coming week. Alas, no local farmer's market tomorrow, suburban intrigue has led to a bit of a schism wherein there will supposedly be two different markets next Sunday, including the one I wanted to visit today, so we'll see. It's supposed to rain on and off for much of the next few days so it's not like I'll have much choice but to rest, I always tend to be sleepy in the rain...
