Not sure if I ever mentioned it, but you know how some people are transaction-oriented and think of everything in terms of gain, buy & sell, etc.? Well, I'm task-oriented. I play tons of online games (the dreaded Merge Mansion being the latest, where the ad featuring Pedro Pascal put me over the edge into trying it), only going through the tasks and never paying a cent (Pokemon GO being the only exception), I have the same task-mentality on the job, and I look at all chores as tasks to be completed. So you should believe me when I tell you today was an extraordinary day for me. The company gives us Juneteenth as a firm holiday, but my Outlook was upgraded over the weekend to Exchange Online, which meant I knew I had to spend a lot of time migrating all the contents of my personal folders into my now-expansive in-box. I chose to log on today to do just that, so I wasn't hit with it in the office tomorrow, and a good job I did, because it took me over 90 minutes to complete before I packed up my laptop. Then, as I was on something of a roll, I accomplished a whole laundry list of tasks: catching up on finances, doing the "wool wash," dragging out the ironing board so I'd have a non-wrinkled shirt for tomorrow, doing my two miles on the exercise bike, sorting and hanging up all the earrings I've been wearing out of the house, and probably a few others I'm forgetting. Even Robin got into the literal laundry list, trying out the washer and dryer (thank goodness no longer broken, at least at the moment) to finally wash my comforter and blanket. What could be better? Well, how about Chicken Attack?
You didn't know you needed this, did you? Thank you, BoingBoing, for introducing me to Takeo Ischi, chicken master and yodeler par excellence.
