Silly Site o' the Day

Today we visited Mom a day early for Mother's Day, and to remind myself of the blessings I have of the loved ones who are still with me. It was a very good visit, interrupted by a bit of shopping she asked us to do (and a lovely sushi lunch beforehand at a restaurant that didn't have a funny name), and it was weird being without a mask in NJ but I didn't feel unsafe at any time. The main difficulty came in the commute, 2 hours down (including gassing up the car) but 2-1/2 hours back thanks to the GWB Mother's Day-Eve traffic. As neither of us is physically recovered from Zed's parting and the aftermath, I couldn't move my back very easily this morning so I wore a back brace down (in addition to the usual hand and elbow braces I don when I drive long distances), but it had eased enough by the afternoon that thank goodness I didn't need it on the drive home. Tomorrow we shop locally, Monday I have to go into the office, and maybe after that I can finally collapse.
