As I'd hoped, my last early-Friday departure day of the year went pretty smoothly and I was able to take things easy. I'm now all caught up on finances, medical stuff, just about everything, and ready for the long weekend. I treated myself to a couple bagels on the way back from the post office at lunchtime, and I did a bit of gourmet grocery shopping after work, taking advantage of the relatively nice day (it's still kind of humid but the temperature was much more reasonable). Even got in a late afternoon nap! As for Zed, he's seemed needier than usual, but who can tell nowadays? I don't think I'll be equipping him with laser beams any time soon:
