I had a lovely visit with Mom today, over three hours just sitting comfortably and being with each other. I'd like more of these quiet visits, but the back-and-forth really seemed to take it out of me. I didn't feel it right away, probably because of the humongous iced tea I bought for the drive home, but I'm well and truly knackered now. This week's COVID weather report actually has some encouraging notes, so I feel a bit safer about going into the office for the exec assistant lunch in two weeks, as well as possibly attending my annual college frat reunion on October 1, which still seems a long way away. I'm starting to seriously dream of autumn, even as the late August temps fry my brain. I think Mabel is dreaming of autumn too:
