We went out at lunchtime to retrieve the new cable box from the tiny strip mall 10 minutes away, and as there was a bank in the complex I decided to take advantage and get some rolls of quarters for upcoming laundry days, which turned out to be a mistake as nobody was masked and it took at least 16 minutes longer than it should have, which turned out to be the difference between arriving home dry and the heavens opening up on us when we were mere blocks away. In any case, it's done, it works fine, that seems to have been the worst of the rain, COVID continues because did I mention *nobody in the bank was masked* but me, and the heat isn't as draining but it's still bad enough. I really don't care for the summer. Maybe I'll feel better if I think of this all as an IA illusion, like the website This Image Does Not Exist (via BoingBoing).
