Silly Site o' the Day

Well, we made it there and back, and I consider that a great success. Robin and I are both so tired from this trip down to NJ, and if I go back next week as planned he's not coming with me, I just cannot put him through that again. We should have left Mom's rollator in my car and put her in a wheelchair to tool around the medical center, but who knew we'd be getting what seemed to amount to an entire tour of the facility? Still, all the testing and such was done and we were back to her place by noon, and the morning trek down there was without incident, so we left as quickly as we could suspecting what was ahead. Sure enough, a few drops started around Newark, got worse around the Meadowlands, and by the time we hit the approach to the bridge traffic had stopped due to cars having to navigate a bit of flooded highway very slowly. Also flooded areas on Riverside Drive and around the Fort Tryon area of the Henry Hudson Parkway, neither of which I'd expected. We were home and completely wiped by 2:30 (the excessive heat didn't help either) and I can hardly think straight now, but I'm hoping a good night's sleep will get me back into the swing of things for my truncated Friday workday. Despite the heat I'm still pretty hungry, but I'm staying away from the food areas after 8 PM and thinking of Velveeta "cheese"-scented nail polish and that seems to assuage the hunger a bit.
