Silly Site o' the Day

Ah, sufficient heat at last! And just in time. This afternoon Robin and I walked to college across the street so I could give blood, and discovered at the front gate that the venue was actually waaaay down at a building by the river, and they had to call a security escort to drive me there and back (Robin hightailed it back home). I finally got all set up for my double red donation (two units) and the nurse couldn't get the ALYX machine (which recycles the plasma back into me after separating the red blood cells) to work properly for about 15 minutes. The whole thing, including transportation, took over two hours. I mean, it was nice actually putting in Community Impact volunteer hours on my timesheet, and I didn't have that much work waiting for me when I got home (the college security guy actually drove me back to my front steps; granted, only a half a block away from the college but still), but still. Anyway, I came back to a lovely warm house for the first time in I can't remember when, so I'm luxuriating in that now. And it didn't even rain yet, so I didn't need an umbrella today!
