Back into the swing of things! My eye is almost back to normal, and things at work have calmed down sufficiently that once again it feels like the relatively quiet days of summer, which means I can once again consider vacation time. But first, I had to get medical stuff out of the way. Got a clean bill of health today from both my primary care practitioner and my physiatrist (I was able to score back-to-back appointments as they were both in the same suite at the medical center a few blocks away from work), walked to the west side bus in the pouring rain, naturally got splashed on by taxis driving very fast in the bus lane and displacing tons of water up onto the sidewalk and into the bus shelter, and now I'm home and dry so I don't much care that it's still raining outside. Other parts of NYC are pretty flooded but we're a bit elevated so everything seems to run downhill from us. I'm good as long as we don't see any appearances from starfish-eating seagulls.
