Finally starting to break through a little, having figured out why my right knee and various other joints have been plaguing me since Monday. Long story short, I will never again attempt to carry a case of water up stairs. More importantly, I now have some forward momentum to next week's stay-cation besides visiting Mom. I've been invited to submit a 5-10 page story based on a Shakespeare play by an editor who loves the Bard as much as I do (took 2 years of Shakespeare in high school and a further 2 years in college, so I haven't read most of the classics other kids read in school but by gosh I've brushed up on my... well, you know). So next week will be my "writer's retreat." Might even get Megillat Vashti finished while I'm at it, but I don't want to get ahead of myself. Work first, and today's busy-season stuff has been put to bed. Only two more days, and they're both short ones, as I have my ophthalmologist appointment tomorrow and Friday is early summer departure. None of this is captured in bad stock photos, but these people's jobs are.
