As expected, today was a real crunch. Got all the deadline-related work done, had a great meeting with one of my new partners, and dealt with all my email, but just that pretty much took up most of the day. The local HR person even stopped by to ask me if I'd eaten lunch! Which I hadn't but, you know, it's not like I'm going to melt away, and I did stay hydrated. Still, I was wiped enough that I pretty much took a nap not more than a half hour after getting home, and woke up all disoriented and panicky at 8:30 because I thought I'd forgotten to set my alarm and I was late to work-- then realized it's Friday evening. Sometimes I'm easily startled. Don't show me these shadows, I'll get even more disoriented!

Ha! I've been through that. The exhaustion from the day and the waking up and worry that you are supposed to be somewhere, are off your schedule only to realize just how off your schedule you are because of how spent you've become!
