Silly Site o' the Day

So there was once this tree. And a couple of years ago the tree fell over, right into the side of the house two doors down from us. Fortunately nobody was hurt because, as we just learned, nobody has lived there in awhile. (Gotta love NYC, where we don't even know our neighbors, or lack thereof, two houses away from us!) A couple of days ago there was a big gust of wind which shook the tree even further. Turns out the tree was one of the places where telephone wires and cables were connected, and when it fell that little bit further there was a big crack and the telephone pole by the back of our house split in two. Now there are wires and cables all over the ground on the side and back of our house (nothing dangerous, the police and firefighters have already checked it out). And today, as one company was working on not fixing things, our cable/phone/internet went out. I'm currently piggybacking on the connection from our downstairs neighbors, who still have their cable, etc. The cable folks never came today as promised, so we'll do without until tomorrow. At least we have electricity, my car's okay, we're all okay... it's all just a bit frustrating, is all. Wonder what Deepak Chopra would have to say about this? No, I don't really, but it's a segue of sorts into the Random Chopra Quote Generator to which Arthur pointed, so there you go. Hoping to get back to some semblance of normalcy tomorrow. Now, just don't ask about my cell phone...
