The last two hours have not been fun. My boss' wife is in the country, and has now apologized for yelling at me when I did the right thing re: her transportation. Before the apology I'd actually summoned up enough self-esteem to decide to quit, salary or no salary, healthcare or no healthcare -- this job is, after all, about 90% of the reason I have pre-existing conditions, and I'm really not fond of being driven to an early grave. In any case, five resumes are now sent out, and I'm not going to stop looking just because they're back from vacation. But since the apology I've felt very lightheaded, as if someone jabbed an adrenalin needle into my heart and I'm suddenly coming off it. I'm kind of crashing with giddy relief, and I can't stop coughing. Work-induced stress -- as I say, not fun. More importantly, Robin's just finished inking the first issue of the Suicide Squad: Raise the Flag miniseries, so we're raising our own flags tonight and celebrating with sushi. We are, after all, adherents to the First Church of Sushi (via Hanan)...
