RIP Darren McGavin and Don Knotts; found out about the abovementioned passings via Mark Evanier's blog, which erroneously (or prematurely) reports that the NY convention yesterday was turning away "people who didn't secure advance tickets." Um, no, when we arrived they were turning away even those who had paid (many of whom were justifiably furious, particularly those who had driven hours to be there and had already paid for parking), and even those who had their badges from the previous day or earlier yesterday and were trying to get back in.
