Spring Cleaning

Now that Robin's figured out where and how our stuff is going to fit in the new (smaller) apartment, we know what we want to get rid of, and therefore it's time for my big announcement!

Packing & Pizza Party!!

Where: Current Riggs Residence, South Riverdale, Bronx, NY
When: Saturday, April 17 24 (Note Date Change), from 2:00 PM until we're done

RSVP for directions

More details:

Thanks to Mom for the suggestion of pizza! When you RSVP, let me know what you like on pizza; otherwise I'll order two plain slices for every attendee. This is going to be primarily a "working" party, so if you want any other snackies and/or any particular drinks, please BYO. We'll get paper plates and cups and ice, and we'll have cold juice and stuff in the fridge, but there probably won't be that many places to put things since, you know, we'll be packing and such.

We are going to be throwing out or giving away:
  • our toaster oven
  • the table underneath it
  • our dining room set (good sized table, four chairs)
  • our large living room air conditioner and AC cover
  • extra (wheeled) pet carrier
  • Computer desk (the one I'm using right now, in fact)
  • two old bookcases
  • non-functional Mac laptop - see if you can make it work!
  • extra (wheeled) desk chair
  • our stackable VHS storage containers
  • almost all our videotapes including Robin's Star Trek: TNG and Voyager PAL tapes
  • lots and lots of duplicate comics
If you want any of this stuff, it's yours. If you want any of the bulkier stuff, your best bet is to bring your vehicle 'round to the service entrance and we'll load it there, then go find a place to park on a nearby street. (Good luck, parking spaces are pretty sparse in this area!)

Robin has also promised free artwork to party attendees as a thank-you for helping us out. The packing aspect of the party shouldn't be as bad, we'll likely have most of the comics and books packed by the time you arrive so we'll probably need the most help with the kitchen stuff.

After the packing and throw-out, if someone with a car wants to help transport a few things to the new place (about 10 minutes away), we'll treat you to dinner, probably at the nearby all-you-can-eat sushi place.

It should be a good mix of folks - comics people, bloggers, Firesign friends... hope to see you on the 17th 24th!
