A Class Divided Cannot Stand
Via Oliver at Liquid List, 20 years ago the PBS series Frontline ran a documentary called "A Class Divided", "about an Iowa schoolteacher who, the day after Martin Luther King Jr. was murdered in 1968, gave her third-grade students a first-hand experience in the meaning of discrimination. This is the story of what she taught the children, and the impact that lesson had on their lives." Says Oliver, "It is nothing less than the most powerful lesson in anti-discrimination that I have ever witnessed." It's 46 minutes long, and you can view the whole thing online now by going to this page. Seems like a good way to commemmorate Dr. King's legacy as well as Black History Month.
