Why Do I Even Bother?

Yeah, sports. Something to have on in the background while Robin and I play our respective computer games. Not really anything to cheer about, as both New York baseball teams lost again, although the Mets had a better showing than the Yankees. And while it does make it harder for me to "root for the home team," it's not much better across the pond, where Liverpool FC lost the Community Shield game (traditionally the kickoff to the proper footie season, which begins next Friday) in penalty shootouts, three of which they missed for no reason other than, I dunno, being too busy counting their money? At least an Englishman won over an American in the playoff of whatever golf tournament Robin had on, lord knows I can't keep track. We even watched a bit of motocross and gymnastics whilst flipping channels. So nice to see so many young folks exerting themselves so we don't have to!
