Everyone at work is still shaken up by yesterday's shooting incident at our NY headquarters, and the office I visit every Tuesday and Thursday. Well, not this week. The firm has made the decision to close 345 Park Avenue for at least the rest of this week, which means I'm back working from home like it's COVID-time, only with different anxieties due to the shooting and the unbearably hot weather (so no escaping the apartment like five years ago when we could just stroll around the neighborhood for a bit). Fortunately we've been invited Out East this weekend, so my brain has been preoccupied with packing, and presumably my body will catch up to that starting tomorrrow (a PTO day for me), at least if this heat allows. Sugar-free ice pops, people, I'm telling you. Does me a world of good.
