Down and Out
Haloscan appears to be down at the moment, so apologies to anyone visiting this site who finds page-loading to be particularly slow, or anyone who wants to leave a comment. I'm sure it'll be back soon. Meanwhile on the job search front, it was down to two candidates, including me, for a position I really wanted at a company I quite liked, and they went with the other candidate. Closest I've gotten yet! One more interview tomorrow - then, if I'm unsuccessful, I have to pack it in for the next six months, as I cannot leave the office (let alone the city to travel into Manhattan) while my boss is in the country.
Which may mean more long days like today, spent juggling lots of personal assignments for him and his family whilst trying to get monthly billing out, which took me to about 5:45 whereupon I needed to drive our new local IT consultant to pick up his car that the towing company had inadvertently impounded. Nice journey up into Rye and Harrison, where some pretty foliage has begun to appear, but I didn't get home until after 7 (I tend to dislike driving in the dark), and the last thing I want to do at the moment is read blogs. Not with the Yankees' post-season beginning in a few minutes! So pardon, as they say, the radio silence.
