Social Note
Tonight Robin and I will be at the Jewish Community Center, attending the opening night reception and panel discussion of their exhibit The People of the Comic Book: Superheroes and Jewish Culture, which I discussed here last month. (Speaking of that earlier post, I should update that Mike Netzer now has a website, which features among other things his Open Apology to Neal Adams.) We'll be attending as guests of the New York City Comic Book Museum, which gives the event prominent space on its own site. Alas, the hoped-for Ma'yan-sponsored "Jewish women and comics" panel won't be happening on Sunday, but I do hope to see lots of folks from the Jews in Comics Yahoo group tonight (the group's moderator, Steve Bergson, is also moderating the panel). Fortunately, Amsterdam Avenue is one block east of Broadway, so the JCC is only a short 4-block walk from the "1" train in this biting cold...
