September Social Calendar
Now that the weather is turning normal once more (have I said "yay, autumn!" enough times yet?), I'm actually planning my out-and-abouts, and it looks like I'm not the only one. Last Sunday, for instance, was the annual International Bognor Birdman contest (now sponsored by Virgin Atlantic; is nothing sacred?). SF Gate columnist Mark Morford (link at sidebar) in today's Notes & Errata talks about the annual Burning Man event. My socializing seems to be a good deal more boring than that. This Friday and Saturday, September 5&6, I'll be stopping by the Big Apple Con, which is being held right down the street from my office. On Sunday the 7th I'll be home participating in the Arrival Day Blogburst being organized by Jonathan Edelstein (link at sidebar), and as it will be Pen-Elayne on the Web's first blogiversary I'll doubtless try to tie my "arrival into the blogosphere" into the mess. On Saturday the 13th, we'll be meeting up with the fabulous Leah Adezio in full garb (her, not us) at the final weekend of the New York Renaissance Faire - anyone in the area going? Want to give us a ride? The bus fare is rather steep, even with admission included... Then on Sunday the 21st I'm meeting ex-husband Steve Chaput (link at sidebar) to take in the NY Is Book Country street fair, where Neil Gaiman (link at sidebar) is scheduled to sign at the DC Comics booth at 11:30. (Here's a list of all the author signings.)
