It’s Not Easy Being Green
Kudos to Jeanne D'Orleans (link at sidebar) for her entry about Green-bashing among Democrats. I'm so tired of people whining that Nader cost the Democrats the 2000 election. He didn't. Gore's weak centrism did, combined with the shenanigans of the Republican candidate's brother and his paramour (as well as some members of the federal government's judicial branch). That said, I can't say I'm that thrilled any more with the way Nader acts as a candidate. It's fine with me if he wants to continue believing there's little fundamental difference between most Democrats and most Republicans, but at least acknowledge that the Bushies are way, way to the right of "typical" Repubs. And geez, don't go around musing that you might run as a Republican; right away that tells folks that you may be more interested in personal power than party principles.
