So What's Robin Been Up To?

White Rabbits! Well, here at the Riggs Residence it was an interesting and eventful July. The weather was like the summers I remember when I was a kid - low humidity and bearable temperatures on the weekends - so we took advantage by actually having a social life, with overnight trips to CT and NJ seeing friends and relatives, and the ACs got a lot of unexpected rest. My job went from very hectic and working for six partners with much surprise overtime to working for only two (for now), both of whom are fairly independent, so I've been taking advantage of the relative transitional down-time to educate myself as much as possible on my new employer, get my health and transit benefits in order, find my way around the website portal, take as many online courses as my little heart desires, ask lots of questions, visit the "mothership" office on the East Side of NYC (and just about every time I've traveled there and back the humidity has been more than bearable, so I've really lucked out!), and generally remember how to mellow out. It's been a long time since I've felt this peaceful during my days, it's nice remembering how to relax again. Plus, I'm back in close contact with my beloved friend Anna Ackner; INSIDE JOKE is slowly being scanned to be uploaded to Tom Gedwillo's Chromium Switch website where my Four-Alarm FIRESIGNal archives presently reside; and I spent early this morning converting my writing archives from WordPerfect to MS Word as that side of my life has begun to resurface, so in addition to non-Silly Site blog posts you may also see some joint output from me and Robin soon.

Speaking of which, this post was supposed to be about Robin. He's been keeping the house clean and livable, taken the first few steps towards becoming a home cook (his English breakfasts and bubble-and-squeak are second to none!), and has been doing commissions for folks on those blank white comic book covers. And he will now be participating in the Dave Cockrum FUTURIANS project (Kickstarter here, more about the late artist and characters here). So we're both back to stretching our creative muscles! Let's hope this bodes well for August and beyond!
